WE FEST

No, not the Women's Entertainment channel festival (no Oprah or Judging Amy!), it was W.E. Fest -- A 5 day music and arts festival in Wilmington, North Carolina. Such a great vibe and energy to the city and all the bands coming from far and wide, but mostly the east coast. We played as part of the Bootleg Magazine Showcase, with some incredible bands, including The So So Glos (NY), I Was Totally Destroying It (NC), and IRATA (NC). Also heard great bands like Spiraling, Annie Quick (NY) and Tommy Strazza (NJ), and though we missed them as they went on at the same time, heard awesome things about The Pneurotics (NC). Saturday night had some great bands including our new friends Beloved Binge. Special thanks to Brian Tucker (and Jody), and Kenyata Sullivan for the incredible hospitality. We had lots of fun on the road. It was fun to astound the crowds with our magical abilities to fit all of our crap and ourselves into a very small trailer and cozy van. Also, we love the Soapbox -- what an amazing venue, with awesome awesome bartenders (don't forget to tip!) and soundpersons. And had amazing fudge at The Fudge Boat (that's a yacht of fudge!).

And to boot, Wilmington's newspaper, the Star News Online said "This Richmond band delivers melodic, driving, dramatic rock. Dark, playful and really pretty at the same time, kind of like that girl/guy you have a crush on."

We recommend the WE fest to anyone and everyone. Here are a few pictures from the first day. For more pics from We Fest, including lots of bands we saw on Thursday (Day 1), go to http://www.flickr.com/photos/26968192@N05/

Enjoy!

We Are There

Get outta town! We were run out of Richmond on a rail and headed to North Carolina for a short tour, dubbed "SNATCH LATCH" 2008. So with our snatches totally latched we made our maiden voyage of the new (used) van, new (used) trailer (purchased from the guitar player of the 7th biggest grossing children's band in the country -- hehe).

It was a beautiful day and we walked around Carrborro, finally eating at Carrburrito. And I mean, what could possibly better prepare you for playing a rock show than a pound of delicious burrito sitting in your stomach. We played the very cool Reservoir bar, who gave us all you can drink Schlitz (Now owned by Pabst, which is a bit incestuous if you ask me, but went very well with the burritos)! We shared a bill with the intense Grappling Hook and amazingly entertaining and endearing husband and wife duo known as Beloved Binge. Afterwards, some of us stumbled down in time to close down the Orange County Social Club. Yum! Tonight we head to the beach and WE FEST 2008! Playing the showcase for Bootleg Magazine. Woohoo!

Here is a brief look at the 2 and a half hour ride in the "rolling sofa" that is our tour van and the night that followed...who knew that you could poop anywhere you want in North Carolina as long as you pick up after yourself...True story, we have pictures to prove it!
